Genealogy Research Techniques

This workshop will help researchers locate a wide variety of genealogy records including marriage, probate, land grant, and military records. It will also demonstrate how to take the first steps in genealogy research, with a discussion of types of available records.

William Fothergill is a member of the counseling faculty at Central Connecticut State University. He is also an independent Ancestral Historian, and has presented at several conferences on the lives of early Colonial New England people of color. Mr. Fothergill became a member of the Sons of the American Revolution after proving his direct lineal ancestry to a Connecticut American Revolution soldier.

The Library's Local History Department presents this series

in cooperation with the African-American Historical Society.
